Clubbing in Tel Aviv

Israel may be the Holy Land, attracting thousands of pilgrims every year, but its second city knows how to party. Known for its commitment to creating a nightlife famed for having venues that stay open well into the early hours, Tel Aviv has earned the title of being one of the best places to go clubbing in the world. So if you’re a bit of a night owl and travelling through the region on you gap year, be sure to head to the following places:

Best late night club: The Cat and the Dog

Everyone needs that one place that you can rely on should your night not go to plan, or somewhere where you can dance if you’re not ready to go to bed just yet. The Cat and the Dog is that place for the people of Tel Aviv. With homegrown DJs and international talent, it’s a club that is a must for electronic music lovers and house heads.

Best alternative club: Radio EPGB

If you love rock clubs but were born too late for the glory days of the 70s New York scene, do not fear: Tel Aviv has it covered. Expect rock classics and a laid-back crowd.

The Block is a DJ’s dream venue for one reason: when it was created its main concern was sound. Its owner, Yaron Trax, has managed to achieve this and has since become a world renowned club, attracting hot acts like Norway’s Todd Terje.

Best bar crawl: TLV nights

Ranked the number one thing to do on a night out clubbing in Tel Aviv on Trip Advisor, the TLV tour is the place to be on Thursday or Saturday night. The trek will have you visit four bars and clubs and includes free shots and beers along the way. The crawl also permits quick entry into the venues, meaning no queuing.

Best street: Lilienblum Street

We picked this street because there is simply too much going on. Nanuchka is a restaurant bar worthy of a mention and is a great place to start a night. With a food menu consisting of a wholly vegan menu of myriad of dishes, there will be something for everyone to line their stomachs before an outing.

The alcohol menu is even greater, with fancy cocktails and various types of spirits and beers. If you like a lively, thumping atmosphere then Abraxas bar is your place. There is a different type of music every night, so it’s best to check ahead if you’re picky.
