Long before the Pirates of the Caribbean films, Davy Jones Locker Diving was teaching people to dive on Koh Tao in Thailand.
DJL has grown from one of the many small dive shops on the island into one of the few PADI 5 Star Career Development Centres but has still managed to maintain it’s friendly close family feel.
We offer a full range of PADI courses from the Open Water entry-level course right through to Scuba Instructor training as well as Rebreather courses, Tech Diving, Cave Diving and Underwater Videography training.
If you’re passing by, why not drop in and get wet?
If you are like most people who come to Thailand then fitting in a Full Moon or Dark Moon Party on Koh Phangan will be on your must-do list, so why not stop off in Koh Tao to get your PADI Open Water license, it’s only an hour away by ferry.
If you are planning on diving in the future, for example, going to Australia and diving on the Great Barrier Reef as part of your travels then getting your PADI certification here in Koh Tao makes perfect sense as not only is Koh Tao a fantastic place to learn to dive, it’s also one of the cheapest places on the planet to get your diving qualifications.
The Open Water course only takes four days to complete and comes with four nights of accommodation included with it in either an eight-bed AC dormitory at Koh Tao Backpackers Hostel or in one of our fan rooms.
You do also have the option to upgrade your accommodation to one of the rooms or bungalows at the Silver Sands Resort (if available) and you can see the different options and upgrade costs to do that here.

We can also offer you the PADI Instructor course, if you are starting from complete beginner then this will take you a minimum of seven months to achieve as you must have been qualified as at least a Scuba/Open Water Diver for six months before you can take the Instructor Course (IDC) we have a few different options.
If people are planning on going through to become an Instructor then it is worth considering taking the Open Water course before leaving home as this will start the six-month minimum requirement counting down.
