The Southeast Asia Circuit

The Southeast Asia Circuit is a mammoth expedition through the four heavy-weights of sea—Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. Leading you through cities, beaches, ancient temples and mountains, it’s no surprise that this is considered to be the quintessential gap year odyssey.

1. Bangkok, Thailand

Many travellers land in Bangkok, the restless hub of southern Thailand. Be sure to visit the famous floating markets at Bang Khu Wiang.

2. Chiang Mai, Thailand

Head north to the spiritual retreat of Chiang Mai, a tranquil and diverse city nestled in the foothills of Thailand’s tallest mountains.

3. Chiang Khong, Thailand

Chiang Khong is the gateway to Laos—the next country on the circuit.

4. Luang Prabang, Laos

Once owned by the French, Luang Prabang has a distinct Parisian vibe – a little bit of France in your Southeast Asia Circuit.

5. Vientiane, Laos

Vientiane is the handsome capital of Laos. The city is home to That Luang, the most sacred monument in the country.

6. Hanoi, Vietnam

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is an experience like no other. A cultural, labyrinthine blend of East, West, new and old.

7. Ninh Binh, Vietnam

8. Hue, Vietnam

Located on the banks of the Perfume River, Hue is the former Imperial Capital of Vietnam.

9. Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam

Saigon, the largest city in Vietnam is boiling, frantic and full of history.

10. Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Phnom Penh is the urban heart of Cambodia.

11. Angkor Wat, Cambodia

This enigmatic temple complex situated in Northern Cambodia is an essential stop-off point and the perfect conclusion to your South-East Asian circuit.
